Mesh, grain, aurora or smooth: how to choose a gradient style

Compare gradient styles by colour structure, texture and intended layout. Find free mesh, grainy, aurora, pastel and holographic backgrounds.

What is the difference between a smooth gradient and a mesh gradient?

A linear gradient transitions along a direction; a radial gradient transitions around a centre. Mesh-style gradients blend multiple colour fields for less uniform transitions. FreeeGradients’ native mesh backgrounds use layered radial CSS gradients; mesh-style artwork is not necessarily an editable mesh object in a design application.

When should I choose grain or aurora?

Grain adds texture to the colour transition and can give an illustration or cover a tactile look. Glow and aurora designs emphasize pools or ribbons of light. Use these styles where the artwork can remain visible; dense text may need a separate calm surface. Detailed effects can use image assets rather than native gradient CSS.

Are pastel and holographic gradients different techniques?

These labels mainly describe appearance. Pastel palettes use softer colours; holographic designs suggest shifting, pearlescent colour. Neither label guarantees a particular file structure or animation. FreeeGradients backgrounds are static; inspect the chosen export rather than assuming a holographic design will move.

How do I find a blue, purple or pink gradient?

Use the colour filter on All gradients or a collection page. Search also accepts template names, colours and styles. Open a matching template to compare its supplied palettes and choose a light or dark variation. Colour filters help discovery; use the actual colour values on the details page when matching a brand palette.
